Travel from Eagle Pass to Cotulla to Laredo and you have just coved the Texas ‘Golden Triangle.” This area got its name by producing some of the biggest Whitetail Deer ever taken. Today, thanks to management programs, it seems that all of South Texas is deserving of the title. It is amazing how fun it can be to own a Texas Deer Hunting Ranch.
Stories of the South Texas Brush Country can be heard all over the nation. Every Whitetail Deer Hunter, regardless of were they are from, has dreamed of looking down a long Sendero and seeing a “Muy Grande” step out into the open. Deep in the heart of the “Golden Triangle” is Freer Texas, home of the Muy Grande Deer Contest. This contest did more for the reputation of Texas Deer Hunting Ranches than anything else. After just it’s first year, hunters from all over the country were flocking there to try test their skills against these South Texas Giants.
